The DA62T generation began in 2001, bringing several improvements to the truck. The interior is more comfortable and better designed, with higher-quality door panels and more tear-resistant seats.
The engine was upgraded to the K6A, still a 600cc 3-cylinder with fuel injection, but now featuring a timing chain instead of a belt—eliminating the need for maintenance in this area. Despite the engine being located under the seats, the Carry DA62T has a hood. Underneath it, you’ll find the brake fluid reservoir, windshield washer fluid reservoir, and coolant expansion tank.
The 5-speed manual transmission is paired with a 4WD system featuring a transfer case with both HI and LOW settings.
This truck comes equipped with power steering and air conditioning. The engine is impressively quiet and surprisingly smooth for a 3-cylinder. The Suzuki Carry’s handling is fantastic—it’s easy to reverse and can fit just about anywhere! A special mention must go to its incredibly tight turning radius, even though this generation has a wheelbase that is two feet longer than the DD51T.
It will be eligible for road registration in Québec starting in January 2026. In the meantime, it can be registered for off-road use, similar to an ATV.
For Ontario and the Maritime provinces, it can be registered for road use immediately.
