Starting from 1999, there's no longer a need to choose between having a 5-speed transmission or a LOW setting. This one has both, unlike the generation it replaces. The cabin is also more spacious, perfect for those who are a bit taller. Additionally, the wheels have been moved forward, increasing the wheelbase and stability. The elongated front end, instead of the flat nose, enhances safety for occupants in case of impact.

The engine is a 660cc 3-cylinder with fuel injection. It starts better in cold weather than carbureted versions and requires much simpler maintenance. It's also more powerful, comfortably cruising at 100 km/h.
